On 22nd June 2025, SUAG hosted a garden party at their residential home at 6 Weld Road in celebration of the 40th anniversary of its opening. After a long spell of hot and sunny weather ‘mother nature’ decided it was time for a change and threw a dampener on the proceedings. Just as it was about to start the heavens opened, torrential rain came down and the wind began to blow! Undeterred, James Jones and Chris Wren officially opened the event.
James is Weld Road’s longest resident and Chris has been involved with SUAG since the charity began and he was just a toddler accompanying his parents, founder members Mary and Mike at various fundraising events. The Ukelele Buddies kindly came along to entertain us and, despite the awful weather, folk turned up in their numbers and enjoyed the afternoon. Just over £1,100 was raised. Thanks to everyone who supported us.
